The time has come to get motivated:
If your anything like me, January is a bit of a write-off and getting motivated to plan the next year isn’t easy. This may be more of an Australian thing as a lot of us are on summer holidays, we are enjoying life and not really sitting down working a whole heap. Because of this, my yearly planning session occurs in January but really kicks into gear in February.
Throughout this month I have been watching some of my favourite YouTubers explain how they plan for a productive year ahead. I don’t think there is one method that works for everyone which is exactly why I like taking advice from different sources and moulding it into a plan that works for me. These videos have really helped me become motivated and get excited to jump into planning my 2020.
Below are six of my favourite videos I have come across to get me excited, motivated and ready to take on the year ahead.
Rachel Aust
All the ways I plan and organize my life [2020]
In this super quick video, Rachel touches on a number of ways she organises her life. The video only goes for 12 minutes yet Rachel manages to explain over 10 different tools she uses to organise her life.
Below are all the apps/ programs Rachel uses to manage her life. In the video, she touches on a couple more I haven’t mentioned below as they relate to managing her Instagram content.
1) Google Calendar – for time blocking, workday, and reminders
2) Calendly – for clients to book calls
3) Asana – for group project management and goal setting
4) Apple Watch
5) Today – Apple Watch Calendar app which provides countdowns
6) Bring! – shopping list app
7) Lifesum – food tracking app
8) Phone alarm – to remind me to have my meals

How to be productive in 2020
Rachell is an Australian YouTuber/Student who is currently living in Canada. I have been a fan of Rachel for quite some time now as I find her really relatable. I don’t have many friends who are working and studying at the same time so Rachell has become a bit of a virtual friend even though she has no idea who I am.
This video starts off with Rachel reminding everyone that she doesn’t believe in always needing to be busy. Be productive when you need to be but always make time to relax.
The five points touched on in the video centre around:
1. Organisational systems
2. Don’t underestimate and overextend
3. Consistent morning routine
4. Switch off and relax
5. Accountability buddy
Muchelleb
How to Reset Your Life for 2020
Muchelle is a recent addition to my YouTube favourites however she is quickly making her way to the top of my favourites list.
You know how sometimes you are sitting in a messy room, you can’t find anything in the cupboard because it’s overflowing with junk and you have no idea where to start to sort it out? This is where Muchelle’s videos come in. Muchelle is inspiring rather than pushy and shows you how much better you will feel when you start getting your physical and mental life tidied up.
The points touched on in Muchelle’s reset video are really different from most of the others. They are all really achievable but will make a big impact on your life.
The reset activities include:
A space reset
Creating your vision board for the new year
 Making your phone distraction-free
 Creating your yearly reading list
Having a life admin day

2020 GOALS: Reflecting On 2019 + Setting New Goals For a Positive Life
Gemma is an English YouTuber who has the best videos to watch when you are feeling a little lonely or you want some background noise while you’re doing somethings around the house. She has such a warm and friendly personality that it feels like your listening to one of your besties.
Gemma’s video below is a bit of a long one. Gemma goes into her goals from 2019, how she sets goals and what her 2020 goals are. One of my favourite parts of this video is Gemma’s appreciation for the book The Secret. I purchased The Secret last year and it’s probably about time I give it another read. Gemma goes into detail about how the book has changed her life and what its all about.
Lavendaire
2020 Goals: PLAN WITH ME for the new year
Lavendaire is run by a girl called Aileen. Her channel is a resource for personal growth and lifestyle design.
All of Lavendaire’s videos revolve around being practical, inspirational, and thoughtful to help you become your best self and create your dream life with confidence.
In this video, Aileen uses her Artist of Life workbook which she sells on her website.
Even without purchasing the workbook you can gain inspiration for prompts to reflect on the year that’s been and plan for the coming year.
My favourite prompt was “My theme for 2020”. Sometimes you don’t know exactly how you are going to achieve your plans but you know the overall idea and theme. Getting this theme down on paper is a way to start manifesting and working out the steps you’re going to need to take.
The second prompt that I found really cool was current me vs future me. The purpose of the exercise to visualize self right now versus where you want to be. By seeing it visually you can start to bridge the gap between the two.

My 2020 Bullet Journal Setup
As the name of the video suggests this video is all about bullet journaling.
My writing/drawing skills are very very average so I don’t solely use a bullet journal. However, I do take a number of ideas from bullet journals and use them in my planner.
Watching Amanda write is very calming and soothing. It blows my mind how neat her writing is compared to mine. After watching this video I have added: “improving my handwriting” to my 2020 goals.
I hope you have enjoyed all of these videos and they have helped motivate you to plan and start your 2020 with a positive mindset.

I would love to hear of any videos not mentioned here that you have found really motivational in the comments below.
[…] The episodes are a mix of interviews and Lauren just chatting about issues she is passionate about. One of my favourite episodes is “The Law of Attraction for Dummies”. If you want to learn more about the law of attraction, Gemma who I mentioned in my last post explains it really well (6 videos to watch to help get motivated for the year ahead). […]
